The Wisconsin Evans Scholars have started their last semester in the current Scholarship House. We all are ready to pack up and head to Merit Hall while the new Scholarship House is being built. Golf Ball treated us well and was a nice way to start of the school year.
The new executive board had very productive meetings in Chicago, learning more about their positions and being able to connect with Scholars from across the country. Although we were not able to bring home the Roland F. "Mac" McGuigan Academic Trophy, our freshmen performed exceptionally. We were able to bring home some hardware still as our men's basketball team was able to roll their way to another championship - making it three in a row. In celebration of a successful weekend in Chicago, the Scholars gathered for pizza and football in the basement to watch the Super Bowl.
This past week, the chapter hosted a blood drive with Red Cross in our front room. All together we were able to donate 17 units of blood, which will help 51 people. Thank you to the community service chairs for another great event.
This weekend, many Scholars are looking forward to skiing at Granite Peak for our house ski trip. Luckily, the Wisconsin weather kicked up at the right time to give us some fresh snow for the weekend.
We are happy to have an even more successful semester and are excited to see what the future holds.
